Hi, I'm Georgia and I began working here at Neo Elegance just over two months ago, new to the job and to the skin care industry I am sometimes missing gaps in my knowledge that I am slowly trying to fill. A facial is something I haven't experienced before so when approached with the opportunity to have the Hydrofirm facial as a learning experience to improve my knowledge I jumped at the chance. So while I don’t know all the science and as am no skincare expert I’m going to do my best to describe what I experienced, and if its not specific enough for you then you are going to have to give it a try yourself. So here is my honest review of my experience here at Neo Elegance’s skin clinic with the Hydrofirm.
Before having the facial done I watched the provided video out of curiosity to see what happens in the facial and honestly it can look quite intimidating but it is anything but when you get in there.
I had my Hydrofirm facial done with experienced therapist Lindsay. She took me through a few quick personal safety questions, I gave her a bit of background on my skin and then she explained each tool on the Neo Elegance Hydrofirm device to show me what they would do and how they work.
Once I was on the table, she talked me through my skin and gave in a in-depth of what my skins condition was; she gave me a lot of insight on issues like congestion in certain areas due to the makeup I was using. She then removed all of my makeup with a cleanser and got on with the treatment, yes they will remove your makeup for you so no worries if you come in with it on.
First it was a deep cleanse with the hydrodermabrasion tool that is done all over the face, but specifically in problem areas. It is a suction tool that uses water and gently exfoliates and helps remove dead skin cells. It honestly felt really refreshing, it sounds very satisfying and overall it felt quite tightening.
Next was the extractor treatment. This tool is thin and works to remove dead skin cells and also blackheads. This tool was mainly used on my nose as this is where there is commonly a lot of extraction to be done. While it may look a little scary it is anything but, it has a slight vibration to it as it works against your skin with a bit of pressure, but it honestly feels just like a tickle to the skin.
Next I experienced the microcurrent. This is step is done over a sheet mask, I had the cooling recovery sheet mask which is particularly great for hydrating the skin. Now microcurrent is great for toning the skin and specifically working the muscles. The current feels like tingling and depending on the level you have it can feel like sharp pinching in the skin specifically on the side of the face where all the main nerves are. It is defiantly an odd sensation! However, Lindsay was very responsive to my pain level and reduced when needed.
Next she used a large flat probe that uses ultrasound and went over my face with it. This was used over the face mask again and worked to push the product further into the skin to get all the benefits from the ingredients. Upon removing the face mask she then sprayed my face with oxygen which helps to refresh the skin and help rejuvenate it and therefore has you going away with a more radiant complexion.
After the Hydrofirm treatment I had a very glowy complexion and I felt very refreshed. The facial had made me super relaxed and sleepy, and it is defiantly something I would recommend for you to try as it has you going away with not only luminous skin but also a bit knowledge on your skin and how you can help it. This treatment is also sold out to many salons across the UK so if you’re interested in experiencing it but you can’t make it to our salon here in Derby its worth messaging us to find out where the nearest treatment is to you.
